Top 10 tips to get out of your comfort zone
What actually is the comfort zone?
So where did the comfort zone come from?

- The comfort zone
- The optimal performance zone
- The danger zone
How do you know if you’re in your comfort zone?
- You feel very unmotivated and nothing new excites you.
- You are not open minded and you do not experience new things as they do not “fit into” your comfort zone.
- You are afraid to take risks as you believe it’s better in your comfort zone, meaning you miss out on great opportunities.
- You do the same thing day in and day out, you don’t feel like you’re living, you’re just surviving.
- You feel like you haven’t levelled up in a while.
Why am I stuck inside my comfort zone?
Why should you leave your comfort zone?

- Stagnation: This is where there is no creativity, you have to follow to many steps and no independent thinking, by not holding yourself accountable you don’t grow, you just survive like I stated earlier.
- Order: Is the next ring, this is where most people sit at, this would be most similar to your comfort zone. As humans we like to be here, we know the outcomes of what we do, everything is predictable. This may be nice and cozy but you can not grow here, which leads us on to the next ring.
- Complexity: This is where things become unpredictable, you should seek discomfort as it helps you grow.
- Chaos: This is the opposite of stagnation, like the Yerkes and Dodson law to much is going on. This is when we have no predictability in what’s going to happen.
- Adversity effect: This is how i define fortitude “strength in the face of adversity.“ it takes courage to step outside of your comfort zone but you will be a lot better for it, the word courage is rooted back to the word cor which is Latin word for heart. Its about showing strength. By stepping out of your comfort zone you will experience things for what they truly are, there’s going to be bumps along the way but you will be more adapted to handling these situations.
- Productivity boost: Comfort is the biggest killer of productivity, it absorbs you into procrastinating and not getting anything done. Without a little dose of anxiety deadlines seem to get past of for “another time” and expectations for yourself are lowered, a great way you can combat this is by using the Eisenhower matrix which you can learn more about by clicking here.
- Larger limits: By slowly creeping out of your comfort it will expand and grow with you, as you move forward your comfort zone will get bigger meaning you will be able to partake in more things without having that initial fear.
- Comfort Kills creativity: By allowing your comfort zone you allow yourself to experience new things without limitations, you see things from a different perspective allowing creativity to flow.
- Comfort Kills confidence: When you leave your comfort zone it’s going to be a bit scary at first but by achieving Your goals you will feel empowered and confident in your own abilities, if you’ve read any of my blogs before you will understand that confidence is key as it helps you overcome many obstacles in life.
- Feel more alive: As i said earlier, when you’re stuck in your comfort zone you are just surviving, you’re not really living. Life’s so mundane and boring if you don’t experience anything new. Life begins at the end of your comfort zone!
